Getting to Costa Rica
There are many flights operating daily with major carriers into Jaun Santamaria
Airport, San Jose, Costa Rica. From there, you we recommend you overnight in
San Jose.
To Punta Islita by Air
The most convenient way to Punta Islita from San Jose is by taking a 30 minute
flight on our private plane to our private airstrip just three miles from the hotel.
Two local Costa Rica airlines operate from San Jose to Guanacaste on a daily
basis, Travlair and Sansa. From there, we can arrange transfers for you.
To Punta Islita by Car
Driving to Punta Islita will take approximately 5 to 7 hours, however, you
will see some spectacular mountains and exotic animals. We recommend traveling
in a four wheel drive vehicle as there are several dirt roads and water to cross.
From San Jose, travel west to Puntarenas and take the Ferry to Naranjo Beach.
In Naranjo Beach, turn right at the first intersection to Jicaral. In Jicaral,
turn left at the church then left at the first intersection following the signs
to Coyote. In Coyote, turn right to Pueblo Nuevo. In Pueblo Nuevo, turn left
crossing the river an passing through Pilas and Corozalito following the signs
to Hotel Punta Islita.
